I tried the example published in CodePlex but I'm having an exception when trying to update.
I have WM 6.1 on an Omnia i900.
I debugged the code and I'm having a NullReference Exception in the line 160:
request.ServicePoint.Expect100Continue = false;
in URLConnectionHttpClient.cs

If I skip that line and continue, it fails when tries to get the RequestStream to pass the data, unfortunately that didn't say anything because it says that I need an extra messages dll, that happens in line 166 of the same code file:

Hi Friends,

im using NTwitter for my mobile twitter client. im trying to send direct message using following code

mytwitter = new Twitter(accusername, accpass);

mytwitter.SendMessage(uname, textmessage);

im using windows mobile 5 ppc emulator . im getting 403 error

details:

im getting exception in the function

Did anybody have any success using the library on Compact Framework?

I have Windows Professional 6 emulator with .NET 3.5 on VS2008. When I ran compact framework console app, first, it threw error in URLConnectionHttpClient.Post method at request.ServicePoint.Epect100Continue = false;. This I corrected as follows:

ServicePointManager.Expect100Continue = false;

if (request.ServicePoint != null){request.ServicePoint.Expect100Continue = false;}

Then it threw error regarding buffering requirement, which I corrected by inserting - request.AllowWriteStreamBuffering = true;

Now twitter returns 403 Forbidden. The same code runs fine on normal .NET framework.

Any idea?

As soon as I try to run the following code on either a Windows Mobile emulated or physical device ...

Twitter twitter = new Twitter("ACCOUNTNAME", "PASSWORD");
twitter.SetStatus("Test post!");

... I get a null reference exception here ...

request.ServicePoint.Expect100Continue = false; // HERE is where the exception occurs!

ServicePoint is null.

However, if I run this in a regular WinForm or consule application, it works fine.

I'm pretty much using your framework with little to know changes. What's the issue?

The NullReferenceException doesn't occour any longer with this fix - but using this lib to tweet doesn't work, too. Twitter sends 417 error, it expects Expect100Continue to be false. This is controversy. on one hand compact framework doesn't support the property-value ServicePoint, which is required to set Expect100Continue - on the other hand twitter requires this.
how can this be solved? is there a workaround for comapct framework to set Expect100Continue to false?

Hello!

When use POST and send especial characters "áéíóúñ" etc, this error happend:

Bytes to be written to the stream exceed the Content-Length bytes size specified.

I have found the problem is with the content length. This solved the problem for me:

//NTwitter.URLConnectionHttpClient.Post

162     // Append params to post-request
163    string paramlist = GetParamString(vars);

166    request.ContentLength = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetByteCount(paramlist); //New line.

Now, i can send POST with special characters.

I pulled down the latest source and am running into the same issue as the original poster. I verified the code was modified to match what you've posted here and I'm still getting the 417 error

I'm pretty sure I tried this, and it didn't resolve the issue because Twitter will send a 417 - or whatever the error is - because they require you to set Expect100Continue to be false. So, while it doesn't throw an exception, you still can't actually post a tweet. Right?
